SQL Developer/Administrator (Outside IR35)

• Location: 1 day per week in Kent

Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer/Administrator with strong expertise in Azure to step in and manage a critical data estate and warehouse.

This role involves hands-on development and administration of the cloud-based SQL Data Warehouse, with a focus on improving efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rapidly familiarise yourself with the existing cloud SQL Data Warehouse and underlying infrastructure.
• Take a thorough handover from the departing Data Manager to ensure continuity and prevent system failures.
• Development and administration of the current data estate, focusing on stabilising and optimising performance.
• Work towards improving and streamlining the data warehouse, with an aim of transitioning to a more efficient Azure Synapse environment.
• No team management responsibilities; this is a hands-on technical role.

Essentials:

• Strong expertise in SQL development and administration, with a focus on Azure environments.
• Ability to work independently and swiftly get up to speed with the current data estate.
• Comfortable working remotely and collaborating over Teams, primarily with the existing Data Manager and leadership team.
• Immediate availability to start within the next few weeks.
