Trade Processing Analyst - FX Options & NDF's

A Leading Financial Services business are looking to hire a Trade Processing Analyst - ideally with FX Options or knowledge around NDF (Non-Deliverable Forwards)

  • £300 - £400 per day (Inside IR35/Umbrella or PAYE only)
  • The role is an initial 6 month contract (scope to roll)
  • Hybrid working (2 days a week in the office, 2 from home)
  • Based in London

Profile Summary

  • The Derivatives, Collateral and Securities team are responsible for the confirmation and settlement of a variety of products in support of various Front Office areas of the bank.
  • This takes the form of a full end to end flow from the point of trade through to the cash settlement of the trade. We have contact with external customers, Head Office and most internal departments of the European branches.
  • Products covered include, but are not limited to, OTC Derivatives, Futures & Options, Fixed income, CD Issuance, NDF, FX Options, Bond Agency, Corporate CSA, Regulatory reporting.
  • Due to the wide range of products we manage the team is also involved in a large number of projects alongside the daily operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely confirmation and settlement of all DCS products within the time line set by management and working in full compliance within Head Office and Internal Operating Procedures.
  • Engage in cross training and self development in order to gain a good operational knowledge of all DCS products.
  • Cover departmental ad-hoc tasks when required.
  • Identify and escalate to Section Head and/or Group Head immediately any potential operational difficulties.
  • Adherence and compliance with the Quality Management System.
  • Identify and report any errors to senior management promptly and work to resolve the issue.
  • Look to implement change management through improvising processes and set standards for others to aspire to.
  • Ensure effective communication, both verbal and via email, is delivered in a concise and timely manner.
  • Payments and settlement instructions are prepared correctly and on time to minimise settlement risk or potential error.
  • Ensure tight controls as per HOP/IOP

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in confirmation and settlements of NDF's and FX Options preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
  • Demonstrable ability to innovate, support change and problem solve
  • High level of computer literacy particularly in Microsoft office products
  • Great organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the banking industry and in particular DCS Products
  • Flexible approach to work situations, willing to adapt to changing demands and receptive to new ideas

Helpful skills

  • FX options/NDF's - ideally from a trade processing guise
  • NDF's - BAU perspective
  • FX Options - few and far between but looking to increase the volume (don't have Swift confirmation system at present) - any knowledge of this would be great.
  • Don't need to have 10 /20 years experience - more a case of needing to be agile and willing to learn
  • All processes are manual basically
  • FOffice, MOffice and BOffice - all manually done rather system generated
  • Not much system processing
  • Every trade is hands on so manual operations and knowledge of how that transactions should work - is key
  • Need someone to process the trades
  • FX option - how it works - back to front
  • NDF option how it works
  • Create swift confirmations would be a massive bonus
