Senior Platform Engineer| 6 Months (Inside IR35)| Fully Remote
Harvey Nash's client is recruiting for a Senior Platform Engineer on a 6 month contract.
Main Responsibilities
- Innovating, supporting and maintaining the organisation's Linux server estate for Operational Platform.
- Engineering, validating, implementing and quality assuring technical solutions.
- Supporting projects implementing new infrastructure into the datacentres.
- Supporting root cause analysis and remediation of issues.
- Working closely with others to estimate work, manage domain scope, risks and issues.
- Collaborating with internal and external parties to provide excellent customer service.
- Collaborating with project teams to ensure that change within the environment is
- managed and controlled effectively.
Key Skills
- Strong sys admin skills and engineering experience of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Satellite (install, Configure, manage)
- Experience of server implementation, upgrades, maintenance, monitoring and automation (Infrastructure as Code) with Ansible, AAP
- VMware (upgrade, manage)
- Understanding of Networking Technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to own, diagnose and resolve platforms issues.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management
- Experience of Python, Bash, API's
- Engineering mindset able to challenge the status quo and automate manual processes to deliver additional value.
- Exceptional communication & teamwork skills
