Data Analyst - SQL/Tableau/ Python (Controls) - £850 per day
A Leading Financial Services firm are looking to hire an experienced Data Analyst with specific technical expertise with SQL/Tableau/ Python.
- £750 -£850 a day (Inside IR35/Umbrella or PAYE only)
- The role is initially a 6 month contract with scope to roll
- Hybrid - Based in London (3 days a week in the office/ 2 days a week at home)
Key Focus
Preventative Booking Controls focus on what is booked where, and why - ensuring adherence to business, desk and individual trader mandates, and also ensuring the integrity of legal entities in preventing material booking errors.
The candidate will be an integral member of a control remediation workstream, working with Front Office and Technology, involved in analysis of control design and implementation, also build out MI strategy for these controls.
Data Driven role
Data is key - the role sits in Prev Booking control team (FO Controls)
- Reporting role - running metrics & generating reports - making them presentable
- Creating Decks
- Senior management reporting
- Doing the analysis
- Data Points - challenging issues
- Remediate the issues from the reporting
- Element BA/ and Element of Data Analysis
- Key - portfolio of reports (generating - putting into excel and queries) - PROCESSING
- Candidate will need to have skills to automate and streamline this analysis and investigatory work
- Automate using Python or writing scripts (making it quicker and making it about the investigation and analysis)
- Analytical and problem solving
- Self-Starter and confidence to work with toolset - Advanced Excel, Query in SQL and Python and scripting and Visualisation tools like Tableau
Responsibilities Include:
- Define business requirements for reporting and metrics to support ongoing review of preventative controls
- Provide quality assurance and monitoring through data analysis
- Partner with Business and Technology to review and follow up on defects through to resolution
- Produce procedure guides for day to day reporting / data analysis tasks
- Generate management information reports to demonstrate control performance and effectiveness
- Work with Audit and other Control groups to investigate control failures and drive forward control enhancement initiatives
Data Skills
- Experience in data analysis including working knowledge of data analysis using python or visualisation tools such as Tableau
- Experience in working on controls related change, working with technology, including writing detailed business requirements and overseeing technology implementation
- Proven track record in collaboration across different businesses, regions and/or support functions
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills - ability to think dynamically but with a Controls mindset at the forefront
- Excellent communication skills up to senior level
- Strong Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
- In-business management / FO control functions, technology (BA), or other relevant change functions
- Experience in Markets products
