Financial Analyst

A Leading Financial Services business are looking to hire an experienced Financial Business Analyst- ideally with experience around Financial Management and Expense Optimisation

  • £500 - £575 per day (Inside IR35/Umbrella or PAYE only)
  • The role is an initial 12 month contract (significant scope to roll)
  • Hybrid working (3 days a week in the office, 2 from home)
  • Based in London, Canary Wharf

Team/Role Overview

  • The Global Financial Management Team sits within Markets Operations COO organization and oversights expense and headcount management, financial analysis, planning and forecasting for the Global Markets Operations Senior Management Team.
  • This is in a team of three, to support Head of Financial Management to engage with multiple senior stakeholders, Finance partners and Chief of Staff team to provide decision support in a fast pace and a very dynamic world.

What you'll do

  • Contractor will be responsible for the overall support to the Head of Financial Management and stakeholders.
  • The tasks include expense and headcount management, planning, forecasting, and preparation of management reports to provide insights to the key senior executives.
  • Responsibilities may also include managing ad hoc projects to improve data quality and reporting processes, as required.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist leadership to support on execution of financial Plan
  • Drive productivity/ cost saving initiatives in partnership with the other teams within and outside of Business Execution
  • Complete financial deliverables including monthly forecasts, internal client reporting and ad hoc requests
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the business, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Background and Skills

  • Finance /Accounting background
  • Experience in expense and headcount management
  • Strong knowledge in budgeting and financial planning
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Hard working and positive mindset
  • Good communication skills and a team-player
  • Bachelor's Degree /Master's degree preferred
