Project Manager

A Leading Financial Services business in Belfast are looking to hire a Project Manager who ideally has perhaps spme experience or exposure in Regulatory Change, Governance and Risk.

  • 12 month contract - significant scope to roll
  • Paying between £300 - £360 per day (UMBRELLA - Inside IR35)
  • Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland
  • Hybrid working (3 in office, 2 from WFH)

The role will be part of a Markets Transformation Team responsible for ensuring the management and organisation of data centric deliverables around the use of Product.

The candidate must have program and project management skills and be familiar with Traded products (financial instruments, stocks, bonds, derivatives) Candidate will additionally be somewhat technically skilled (excel, powerpoint).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Transformation leads and Business Analysts to organise the deliverables as part of the overall Program
  • Own the delivery of key project streams, ensuring actions and milestones are accurately tracked and reported.
  • Work directly with Compliance and Business stakeholders to define appropriate levels of data entitlement for each user group and each new dataset
  • Maintain a disciplined approach to data governance and access, ensuring key controls are upheld.
  • Lead or participate in working groups, workshops and with stakeholders to understand business requirements, define project plans and manage timelines
  • Manage internal and external dependencies across initiatives, including working closely with multiple Technology teams and Business stakeholders.
  • Identify challenges and proactively seek to resolve or escalate risk and issues in a timely and well-articulated manner to the projects by engaging relevant stakeholders and PMs
  • Engage senior stakeholders continuously by escalating and resolving issues as they arise
  • Assist in producing accurate and insightful project update materials and artefacts, tailoring to various forums and committees
  • Build strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach, to support the execution of programs

Key Skills

  • Organised, detail oriented, and able to track and prioritise multiple deliverables at once
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Demonstrable experience of daily management and tracking of technical deliveries
  • Self-starting with the ability to multitask, prioritise and proactively seek out teams and individuals across the organisation to help unblock issues
  • Demonstrated problem solving capability
  • Must be an energetic self starter/able to drive initiative with minimal direction
  • Organised, detail oriented, and able to track and prioritise multiple deliverables at once
  • 2 years minimum experience preferred

Key Skills Preferred

  • Knowledge of Derivatives across all asset classes (Rates, Equity, Commodity, FX)
  • Experience with Regulatory initiatives (Volcker, FRTB, SACCR, Basel)
  • Experience with Programs/Projects that cross different functions (Risk, Finance, Operations)
